Affidavit: St. Petersburg Mother Stabbed More Than 100 Times Before Being Thrown into Lake with Toddler

In a horrific incident that has shocked the nation, a young mother from St. Petersburg, Florida was reportedly stabbed over 100 times before her toddler was thrown into a nearby lake. According to an affidavit filed by local law enforcement officials, the attack occurred on the evening of March 29, 2023, and was carried out by an unknown assailant.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Jenna Thompson, was walking with her two-year-old son near a park in the Shore Acres neighborhood of St. Petersburg when she was suddenly attacked. Witnesses reported hearing screams and seeing a figure running away from the scene shortly thereafter. Police arrived at the scene shortly thereafter and discovered Thompson’s body, which had sustained over 100 stab wounds.

The affidavit filed by the St. Petersburg Police Department alleges that Thompson’s attacker stabbed her repeatedly in the face, neck, and torso before throwing her into the nearby lake. The affidavit also states that the toddler, who was found alive and floating in the lake several hours later, had been thrown in after his mother.

The incident has left the community of St. Petersburg reeling with shock and disbelief. Local officials have vowed to do everything in their power to bring the perpetrator to justice and ensure that justice is served for Thompson and her family.

In the wake of this tragedy, many are asking how something like this could happen in their community. Some have suggested that the incident may be related to a broader trend of violence against women, particularly those who are mothers. Others have pointed to the need for increased vigilance and community involvement in preventing such senseless acts of violence.
