Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is a private, independent research university located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.
The LUMS was founded by Syed Babar Ali in 1984 and was led by the business-industrial community under the leadership of Syed Aarim. In 1986, he established a graduate business school with a $ 10 million USD grant from Harvard Business School.
It has since expanded to the University, which started the Liberal Arts undergraduate school in 1994, the engineering school in 2008, the law school in 2004 and an education school in 2017. The University started the National Outreach Program (NOP) in 2001 to provide financial support. Started a scholarship program for students and in 2015, in partnership with the Afghan government, to diversify their student body.
As of 2017, the university has a student body of about 4,000 undergraduate and undergraduate students, one of which is faculty 248, of which approximately three have doctoral degrees in three constituencies. The LUMS is ranked 111th in Asia in the QSU University Rankings of the Year and 700 in the World’s Top 700. It is included in the business world by 300 top universities globally and 400 universities globally in mathematics.
Following the liberal arts curriculum, LUMS is an expensive, selective and progressive university in Pakistan. LUMS has counted several prominent Pakistani intellectuals and public figures, including Omar Saif, Hina Rabbani Khar, Adil Najam, Arif Zaman, among its former students and current and former teachers. Aamir Iqbal, Aisha Jalal, Asad Abadi, Osama Siddique and Pervez Hoodbay.

History
The university was granted a charter by the Government of Pakistan in March 1985. The LUMS Board of Trustees includes members of the domestic business community, educationists and government representatives. The basic task of the board is to set policy guidelines and review university functions. The Board of Governors, as a sponsor of LUMS, raises funds for the operation and maintenance of the University In 1986, a business school by the name of the Lahore Business School was established for the MBA program. The school was later renamed and known as the Solomon Dawood Business School.
After the construction of the current campus, LUMS began its undergraduate program in Economics and Computer Sciences in 1994. In 1996, the School of Arts and Science was introduced to oversee undergraduate programs. Departments of Social Sciences, Economics and Law. LMMS launched the National Outreach Program (NOP) in 2011 to reach out to bright students from backward areas of Pakistan. According to the LMMS, it has provided $ 3.2 billion in funding to PKR, with approximately 30% of student organizations receiving financial support in some form each year. During the academic year 2015-16 alone, LUMS provided more than PKR 500 million as financial support to its students. As of 2016, more than 800 scholars have benefited from the LUMS National Outreach Program (NOP).

Campus
The ancient building at LUMS is a two-storey academic block designed by Habib Fada Ali, spread over an area of 150,000 square feet. Mushtaq Ahmad Gormani School of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHS) is located in this building. Solomon Dawood School of Business
Solomon Dawood School of Business was the first school to be established in 1986 at LUMS. Mushtaq Ahmed Gormani School of Humanity and Social Sciences
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences is comprised of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Department of Economics. DHSS offers a combined program in Economics, along with an undergraduate degree in Anthropology / Sociology, History, English and Political Science, as well as Politics and Economics. This school is Political Science, Economics, History, English Literature, Urdu Literature, Religious Sciences, Sociology / Humanities.
Launched in 1999, the humanities and social sciences are home to the fields of social science and humanities, including anthropology, literature, philosophy, political science, psychology and history. The Department of Economics offers a four-year undergraduate program in economics (first class graduated in 1997), a graduate program in economics and mathematics and economics (first class graduated in 2002). Economics is one of the most well-known companies in LUMS, and a significant percentage of students studying LUMS have studied economics as part of a joint degree program or as a minor. Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering

Sheikh Ahmed Hassan School of Law
The fourth foundation of the LUMS School, Sheikh Ahmed Hassan School of Law, was held on campus on April 5, 2014. The chief guest of the event was Special Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Tasadd Hussain Jilani. The law school is named after the (late) Sheikh Ahmed Hassan. CHSOL has been established out of the LOMS Department of Law and Policy, which has been in operation since 2004, offering a 5-year joint BALLB undergraduate program, approved by the Pakistan Bar Council. LUMS School of Education
On January 6, 2017, LUMS announced the establishment of its fifth school, the LUMS School of Education. The search for the LMMS School of Education was initiated in October 2015 with funding from the Babar Ali Foundation. According to university sources, during the project phase, the team established local, regional and international contacts through programs such as the inaugural Education Round Table at LUMS in March 2016.

The school will be home to the following programs beginning in Autumn 2018.
